Plasma

Plasma is one of the four states of matter and makes up 99% of the visible matter in the universe. Most of this is in stars and nebula.

Plasma is a gas full of neutral atoms in which some of the electrons separate and become free. Because the electrons are free from their atoms plasma reacts to both electric and magnetic fields which is a critically useful characteristic.
